Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Meal Swipe mobile application (the "App"), operated by Alex Harlan ("Meal Swipe," "we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, creating an account, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Description of the Service

Meal Swipe provides meal discovery and recipe suggestions generated using artificial intelligence and user-selected preferences. The App may include optional features such as saved recipes, grocery lists, and subscription-based premium functionality. The App also includes a restaurant discovery feature that uses your device location to suggest nearby restaurants matching your meal preferences.

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time without prior notice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

By using Meal Swipe, you represent that:

• You are at least 13 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement

3. User Accounts

Certain features require an account.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Maintain the security of your login credentials
• Not share your account with others

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system and verified using RevenueCat.

By subscribing:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at purchase confirmation
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Renewal charges occur within 24 hours before the current period ends
• You may manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings

Meal Swipe does not collect or store payment card information. All billing is handled by Apple.

Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial period ends.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or interfere with the App
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools
• Upload malicious software or harmful content
• Circumvent subscription or usage limits

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. AI-Generated Content and Food Safety Disclaimer

Meal Swipe generates recipes using artificial intelligence.

AI-generated content:

• May contain inaccuracies
• May not account for allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions
• Is not medical, dietary, or professional advice

You are solely responsible for:

• Verifying ingredients
• Checking allergens
• Following safe cooking practices
• Ensuring food is cooked to safe temperatures

Meal Swipe is not responsible for adverse reactions, illness, or injury related to food preparation.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you save or upload within the App (such as saved meals or preferences). You grant Meal Swipe a limited license to store and process this content solely to operate the App's features.

You agree not to upload unlawful or harmful material.

8. Intellectual Property

All App software, design, branding, logos, and original content are owned by Meal Swipe and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the App without written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meal Swipe and its operator are not liable for:

• Food reactions or allergic responses
• Errors in recipes or instructions
• Personal injury or illness
• Loss of data
• Service interruptions
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

You use the App at your own risk.

10. Service Availability

We do not guarantee the App will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Features may change or be removed at any time.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the App. You may stop using the App at any time.

12. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
